As more developer documentation for concrete5.7 becomes available and time permits, I will be porting more of my addons. I have a lot of addons in the marketplace and it will take a while to update them all to 5.7.

Syntax Anywhere

The trouble with syntax highlighting blocks is just that. They are blocks. Great for big listings or the odd scrap of code, but when writing documentation it can be a hassle to have to mix and match paragraphs between other block types and your favoured syntax highlighting block.

Hence Syntax Anywhere. Syntax Anywhere frees syntax highlighting from the confines of a dedicated block.

Add a Syntax Anywhere block to your page and it will find and highlight sections of code or markup within pretty much any block you can write fragments of code into, whatever the programming or markup language. Using checkboxes and/or jQuery selectors, you have complete control of what Syntax Anywhere highlights on your page (please read the documentation for details).

Syntax Anywhere  will work with any block that supports the tags and markers it can key on. With Syntax Anywhere you can highlight syntax in:

  • Content blocks
  • HTML blocks
  • Many derivatives of content blocks
  • Markdown blocks and files
  • Blocks you have created using Designer Content.

Syntax Anywhere provides a selection of syntax processing libraries and themes, including compatibility with the Highlighted Code Block, so for large documentation projects you can seamlessly combine Syntax Anywhere with other syntax blocks.

Syntax processors within Syntax Anywhere use a plugin architecture. If the existing syntax processors and themes are not enough, you can implement your own interface to many more.

Developer & Document - Develop JavaScript and CSS with jQuickie and Style Quickie. Then document it with Syntax Anywhere.
